It is a minor fixing release. It fixes the readme file and cleans the security model dependencies of the installation procedure. If you already run rsyslogd, there is no point in updating to this release. With that release, rsyslog now compiles and runs under FreeBSD. Under NetBSD, compilation is also successful as was a quick test. Besides the new platform, this releases brings some minor improvements to the debug output (-d). Previously, it was too verbose. Now, some information of interest to developers has been removed, which makes it easier for administrators to see useful information. The release can be downloaded from http://download.adiscon.com/rsyslog-0.8.4.tar.gz I hope this tool is useful. Feedback is appreciated.
