are you sure there isn't? I've been running dev versions of 5.x and hav 
eneeded to use -c5 with them instead of -c4

I would not use 5.2.0, it had many problems under load (and problems where 
invalid syslog messages could cause it to crash)

I'm currently running a slightly later git snapshot reliably under fairly 
heavy load (>10k logs/sec sustained for hours at a time). unfortunantly I 
am 3 timezones away from the office or I would upgrade to the 5.3 that was 
just released. I will proabaly do so tuesday when I am back in the office.
