If you can find a way to monitor the rsyslog and journal cpu time while you
run the test it would be very interesting. We believe that systemd adds a
lot of overhead to the logging, but I haven't had anyone able to show
numbers publicly, and since I don't run a distro that uses systemd (yet),
I'm not willing to go to the effort  to setup a special install just to
test.

Also, can you double-check your times? what you showed looked to me like
the real time was close to double, but the user and system times were much
lower, which is a very odd combination.
