but MySQL settings are loaded after that filter (that writes to
/var/log/messages).

what I finally want is everything on MySQL (eventually would love to switch
to MongoDB) but local data I also want on /var/log/messages (i.e, I want to
know if RSYSLOG failed to start for some reason).

is this possible?
