When I tried to make 5.8.10 and 7.2.4 version of rsyslog to work I played
with ratelimit (that gave some effect for 5.8.10) and some other options.
Whatever I tried to do it did not help till I switched to 8.2.0 . I did not
finish setting up alternative to /dev/log socket, so I don't know if that
would help .
I tried the following options (Not all together).  I guess most of them are
irrelevant, but when I started I did not have any knowledge about rsyslog:
$SystemLogRateLimitInterval 0
$MainMsgQueueSize 10000
$MainMsgQueueType LinkedList
$MainMsgQueueDequeueSlowdown 0
$NainMsgQueueWorkerThreadMinimumMessages 100
