We tested this now with rsyslog 8.2.2, and again we are seeing the problem
with a certain type of Juniper routers.

Then we started using syslog-ng 3.4.8, and the problem stopped:

before

Aug  4 09:07:38 Aug/0.lo0.xx1.xxx9.xxxx.tld

after

Aug  4 09:25:04 xx1.xxx9/0.lo0.xx1.XXX9.xxxx.tld
