Gee.  I'm pretty sure it's not.

Through separate routes, I learned of and tried the following...

export RSYSLOG_DEBUGLOG="/var/log/filenae
export RSYSLOG_DEBUG="Debug"
rsyslogd -dn

It created volumes of interesting stuff (if you're into that sort of
thing), but nothing in there seemed to help shed light on this problem
(yet).  I'll try to attach the file to my next posting.
