I'd like to try and make my rsyslog forwarding more resilient. The
situation is as follows...
machine1-1000 log locally and forward logs (*.* @@log-server) to a central
logging server. Under normal operations this works as expected. However, if
the central logging server is down for whatever reason machine1-1000 seem
to go into heavy lag after the buffers are filled, trying to connect to the
unreachable log server. The central logging server being down causes
cascading problems into the applications being served.
How can I make these systems more resilient? ie; If the central log server
is down, don't worry about it. Is the only solution to this to use UDP?
