What version are you running? v7 and later have a lot of JSON capabilities
built-in, look at what you get if you log with the format string just "$!"

as for the mongo, what is it that you want to have show up? it looks like
what's being written is fairly reasonable.

with questions like this, it's good to also show the base message that's
being logged.
