While I am not a big fan of SELinux, just disabling it is only a
stopgap/bandaid

now that you have confirmed it's SELinux tagging that's the problem, you
should be able to look at the tags and see what was wrong. You may run into
this sort of problem with other services that you run, and it's good to
know how to debug them.
