I think there is even a todo item inside the code for this ... since quite
a while. It stays there because so far nobody came up with this issue.

To the OP: I am not sure if I have time to changef/fix the dequeueSlowdown.
Assuming I have, would you be willing to compile, install and run 8.5.0
when this is done? I ask because it doesn't make sense to implement
anything that then nobody tests and uses, so in that case it would be an
easy decision [and, yes, here usually comes the "I can't run anything not
provided by the distro" argument] ;)
