I was not aware that cee was formally abandoned, but the infrastructure put
in place to support it is still useful. We just need to consider removing
the cee focused defaults. (which was already being discussed anyway)

the idea of JSON structured log messages is a good one. Trying to mandate a
new standard of exactly what data should be where is a hopeless task (the
phrase "tilting at windmills" comes to mind :-) The good news is that once
the data is machine parsable, it becomes so much easier to deal with that
the lack of standardization matters a lot less.
