I'm curious as to why RSyslog seems to be not transporting intermittent
messages. I have the version of RSyslog that comes with Debian Jessie.

/usr/sbin/rsyslogd -version # yields:
    rsyslogd 8.4.2, compiled with:
    FEATURE_REGEXP: Yes
    GSSAPI Kerberos 5 support: Yes
FEATURE_DEBUG (debug build, slow code): No
    32bit Atomic operations supported: Yes
    64bit Atomic operations supported: Yes
    memory allocator: system default
    Runtime Instrumentation (slow code): No
    uuid support: Yes
Number of Bits in RainerScript integers: 64

I'm sending over TCP TLS. I've attached some screen shots of the missing
messages. On the left you can see /var/log/messages. On the right you can
see the syslog server that's supposed to be receiving the messages but
isn't. The event volume is extremely low. It seems that there is something
wrong with the queue?

The fact that it's intermittent to me, means that it shouldn't be a config
issue and it's not comms.

What would be causing this?

When asked, support said: "I cannot determine easily if this is a bug,
configuration issue or has other reasons that are not directly related to
rsyslog, we would need to do some investigation first. "

Can we please investigate?
Thanks.
