disk queue performance is very poor compared to memory performance.

the first thing I notice when looking at the config is that you have it
configured to use 6 worker threads, too many threads can actually decrease
performance.

what is it that you are looking at that is saying that you lost messages?
the pstats output should show you any lost messages.
