One thing you might note, however, is that if a Disk-Assisted queue is used
and the spool file dir does not exist (or isn't writeable), the memory is
takes to store the messages that should be enqueued there gets leaked/lost
by rsyslog, and the process will forever hold onto that memory until
rsyslog is restarted. In practice this means that it will inevitably
starve the main queue, and eventually the rest of the system and will
probably result in rsyslog being an oom_killer victim by the kernel.
