Probably what's happening is that the log is malformed and so not being
parsed correctly.

Can you give a sample of the log message? Ideally log with the template
RSYSLOG_DebugFormat and give a sample from that.

Rsyslog is used to forward messages on a very regular basis, so yes, this
can be done.
