Aha! Our bad ...    ;-)

In fact, the CLI inserts were not exactly the same data

We are moving a legacy server to Centos 7 and the legacy server has been
successfully using ommysql to populate a remote Mysql server for several
years, including today

The new server has brand new versions of all software - whatever is current
in Centos 7

The Message field format has changed from legacy to new rsyslog versions,
thus affecting the trigger results

Now we have rewritten the trigger to parse Message field and all is well
