Probably you are looking at the wrong field.

For a test, add

/var/log/properties.log;RSYSLOG_DebugFormat

to the TOP of your rsyslog.conf. Then let some of those messages flow. Then
review the file. It will tell you exactly which field contains which text,
and I guess this will show you where the problem is. If not, please post
one message with all properties, so that we know exactly what the engine
does.
