Thanks for your reply.  I will be testing several rsyslog servers which are
receiving messages and they are forwarding.  My thought was to confirm
messages are being received in the rsyslog servers, and once I know that,
to confirm messages are being properly forwarded and received by the
endpoint. Finally, I wanted to generate a fairly high rate of traffic to
the rsyslog server, confirm the queues are working as designed, and all
messages are getting forwarded and received at the distant ends without
packet(message) loss.  I was not aware that there is a function within an
rsyslog server that will let me send messages to another endpoint.  (other
than by using logger.  The logger on my Linux is rather primitive.)  This
would be very helpful especially if it were possible to customize the
facility.severity, format (5424), etc.

Thanks in advance if you can provide any details how I can do this with the
rsyslog server.
