Allright, I forgot it was necessary to:

[code:293m8zfu]export RSYSLOG_DEBUGLOG="/var/log/myrsyslog.log"
export RSYSLOG_DEBUG="Debug"[/code:293m8zfu]

to get this kind of output when running the configuration validation.
