I did not get any error on firing the command rsyslogd -N1
It only says-:
rsyslogd: version 8.19.0, config validation run (level 1), master config
/etc/rsyslog.conf
rsyslogd: End of config validation run. Bye.

And I replaced the line (:msg, contains, "DSS API LOGGING") by 

if $msg contains "DSS API LOGGING" then /var/log/api.log

then also, performance problem persists, but functionality is fine.
Any hints on the imfile problem?
