well, one thing to do would be to bypass systemd, create an additional
socket (say /dev/reallog :-) and try logging to that. If you no longer have
problems, then it's in systemd.

also, if you are going through systemd, you may want to use imjournal
instead of imuxsock

do you see all the logs if you look in the systemd journal?
