you would need to change the filters that write to /var/log/messages to not
include the apache logs.

you make the apache logs be severity info, and then you say to write *.info
to /var/log/messages, so the logs are doing exactly what you told them to
do.

do you just want to throw away the apache logs and have them not go into
any file? or is there some place you want them to go?
