thankyou for responding - will take a look at RebindInterval. If it
performs a new DNS lookup then it might work for me.

agree the construct in amazon is slightly different - ips change all the
time and requires slightly different methods.

I assume rsyslog has access to the DNS TTL - assuming a forwarding DNS name
never changes seems a bit static?
