I have to mention that the described network configuration with internal
IP-addresses between Host2 and Host3 is only a testing approach. Under real
conditions Host3 is located in an external network where I do not have any
access to. The external IP-address of Host2 contained in the log-messages
arriving at Host3 is used there to separate the logs from different Hosts
at the same level as Host2. So, unfortunately, there is no post-processing
possible at Host3-level. 
If I would sacrifice the %fromhost-ip% of the original system (only keeping
the original %hostname%), would it be possible to supply %fromhost-ip% with
the IP-address of the relaying system?
