I'm glad that you were able to figure it out. You will typically get a
faster response asking questions on the mailing list. There are far more
people reading that than looking for new posts here.

remember, this is opensource software almost everyone who answers questions
is doing so on their own time. Adiscon does offer paid support options for
rsyslog if you need guaranteed responsiveness (note that I do not work for
adiscon). Canonical also offers paid support for Ubuntu
