Thank you for taking the time to respond.  

I couldn't find a reinterpret in the doc, but it did find interpret (<!-- m
--><a class="postlink"

... #interpret</a><!-- m -->) which looks like it might be what you were
referring to.  My first go was unsuccessful, but I'll keep trying as well
as keep a lookout for changes to liblognorm in the future.  This project is
definitely something I plan on watching.

Thanks also for confirming that liglognorm will currently return a string
by default.  I also feel like there's got to be a method to parse strings
as integers in the MongoDB map-reduce command.
